The competent investigation authorities referred the accused, Sarah Khalifa, to trial after she was charged with smuggling a mobile phone into her prison, in clear violation of the rules regulating inside penal institutions. During the session, the defense requested a deadline to review the case file, so the court responded and decided to postpone hearing the case.
The New Cairo Criminal Court, sitting in the Fifth Settlement, set a session for March 3 to begin the first session of Sarah Khalifa’s trial on charges of detaining her private driver and assaulting his honor, and it was postponed.
The investigating authorities had referred her to criminal trial after bringing charges related to indecent assault on a young man and photographing him naked.
