Cairo News Channel reported that the Saudi capital, Riyadh, is hosting a ministerial meeting today, Wednesday, with the participation of foreign ministers from Arab, Islamic and regional countries, to discuss developments in the situation in the region.

The channel’s correspondent from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jamal Al-Wasif, explained that the meeting comes in light of the continuation of what he described as Iranian attacks on a number of countries in the region, and the escalation of regional tensions.

Reduce escalation and restore stability

In the same context, Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, condemned these attacks, stressing the importance of reducing escalation and restoring stability in the region.

This came during the Saudi Foreign Minister’s reception of his Egyptian counterpart, on Monday, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Riyadh, as part of an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and joint coordination.

According to what was reported by the Saudi News Agency “SPA”, the discussions dealt with ways to expand cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, in addition to discussing regional and international issues of common interest.

The two sides also discussed developments in the situation in the region and efforts made to contain tensions, stressing the need to intensify diplomatic moves to reduce the escalation, and renewing their condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting a number of Arab countries.
