Box continues Housing Social and Real Estate Finance supported its efforts to complete the review of applicants’ files for the Housing for All Egyptians 5 offering, which witnessed a wide turnout from citizens during the recent offering.

As the field inquiry stage approaches, thousands of applicants await the next executive steps, at a time when the Fund is working on completing more than one advertisement files at a time to ensure the speed and accuracy of allocation procedures.

The Housing Fund has almost finished reviewing the files of applicants for housing units ready for receipt by offering housing to all Egyptians 5, after the high number of applications received by the Fund led to a delay in the initial inspection dates, but the review work has come a long way over the past weeks.

During the coming period, the Fund will begin addressing citizens whose files have been reviewed, in preparation for preparing their papers for presentation to field inquiry companies to update the necessary data before determining the final position on the allocation, with regard to units ready for receipt.

The Social Housing Fund is currently working to finish examining the files of applicants for the announcement of Housing for All Egyptians 7, an advertisement whose documents are being examined in parallel with the announcement of Housing for All Egyptians 5. This comes within the framework of the Fund’s plan to accelerate the implementation of the procedures of the Presidential Housing Initiative, and to meet the increasing demand for housing units for citizens from different segments.

Official reports issued by the Social Housing Fund indicate that the state has made great strides in implementing the units of the Presidential Initiative, Housing for All Egyptians. About 1.1 million housing units directed to low-income people have been implemented and are being implemented, in addition to offering nearly 37,000 new units. About 28,000 units are being implemented within the medium and investment housing categories, in addition to more than 54,000 units of green housing projects designated for low-income people, which reflects the state’s trend towards applying sustainability standards in its new housing projects.

Since the start of the housing program in June 2014 until now, the Social Housing Fund has issued 21 advertisements through which the beneficiaries obtained real estate financing worth more than 90 billion pounds for low-income people, provided by 22 banks and 8 real estate financing companies.

The Fund provided direct cash support amounting to 10 billion and 53 million pounds, and more than 651 thousand low-income citizens benefited from these initiatives. Regarding the middle-income segment, the funding granted so far has amounted to about 4 billion pounds, with a number of beneficiaries exceeding 11 thousand citizens.

The Ministry of Housing estimated the volume of cash support provided during the last fiscal year at approximately 733 million pounds, bringing the total support since the start of the program to more than 10 billion pounds. The number of beneficiaries also increased during the past year by 69 thousand beneficiaries, which reflects the Fund’s ability to expand the implementation of its basic strategy, which aims to provide adequate housing for citizens and stimulate the participation of the private sector to be a major partner in the implementation of housing projects.

With the start of the inquiry procedures for those entitled to housing units for all Egyptians 5, the Social Housing Fund continues to work on completing the careful examination of all files to ensure that the units reach their actual beneficiaries. The coming period is scheduled to witness a decisive step in the process of allocating units, in conjunction with the state’s continued implementation of housing projects of various types to meet the growing demand and achieve a broader vision for developing Egyptian urbanism.
