Umm Ahmed said in exclusive statements to Cairo 24 that she is very happy with this occasion every year, explaining that she prepares palm leaves and makes various shapes of them in order to gift them to the Copts, in addition to selling them to Muslims as well, who are keen to buy them and give them as gifts to their Coptic neighbors and friends, in an image that reflects the depth of love and interconnectedness between everyone.
She added that she maintains this custom on an annual basis, stressing that for her and for the people of the region, Copts’ participation in their events and holidays represents a natural matter that expresses national unity and the spirit of brotherhood that brings together Muslims and Christians in Minya.
She pointed out that this good atmosphere is repeated every year, as everyone shares joys and occasions with each other, in a simple human scene that carries great meanings, and confirms that the people of Egypt have relationships based on respect, love and coexistence.
This kind gesture from Umm Ahmed comes to provide a beautiful model of tolerance and compassion among members of society, especially on religious occasions, which in many villages and governorates turn into an opportunity to spread joy and affirm the values of brotherhood and love among everyone.
