Wael Al-Qabbani, Commander, denounced Zamalek Previously, the club’s board of directors decided to refuse 17 fans from traveling to Zambia to support the team against Zambia’s Zesco in the African Confederation Cup.

Statements by Wael El-Qabbani, former Zamalek captain

Wael Al-Qabbani said in television statements: It is unacceptable that the Zamalek Council refuses the travel of 17 fans to Zambia because of its anger at the crowd’s chants against the Council. I do not completely accept this and it is an unforgivable failure because it deprived the fans of supporting the team.

Al-Qabbani added: The fans do what they want. Zamalek is still competing in all tournaments because of the fans.

At the same time, Wael Al-Qabbani criticized the club management’s decision to sell the team’s stars during the current winter transfers.

Al-Qabbani added: When you sold Nasser Maher and Dunga, you solved your financial problem?! Of course not.

Wael Al-Qabbani concluded his statements by saying: When I was in charge, we spent 7% of the players’ contracts and they were satisfied with the percentage and were happy with it.. Zamalek players are mostly satisfied with any money that comes to them.

It is noteworthy that Zamalek lost yesterday to the Zambian team ZESCO, with an unanswered goal, in the match that played against Zambia.

Zamalek’s chances of qualifying for the Confederation Cup quarter-finals

Zamalek’s hopes are still there to reach the quarter-finals of the African Confederation Cup, as it faces a decisive confrontation against Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa in the final round of the group stage, scheduled to be held next Saturday at Al Salam Stadium.

Zamalek needs to win this match to guarantee direct qualification, as it will then raise its score to 11 points and lead the fourth group.

If the match ends in a draw, the chance to qualify will remain, provided that Al-Masry stumbles against ZESCO United, whether by a loss or a draw in the same round.

The Confederation of African Football had officially notified Zamalek that the Kaizer Chiefs match would be held on Saturday, February 14, at six in the evening, at Al Salam Stadium.
