The X platform crashed after a global outage for the second time in three days
This is the second outage in just three days, after… X platform Last Tuesday, a similar pause occurred, preventing users from accessing posts, photos, and videos.
According to the Downdetector website, a large number of X platform users encountered problems with the application and website, while others reported server malfunctions, and some users reported that the application and website either did not work at all, or opened for a short period before recurring error messages appeared.
Complaints began to appear around 8:30 pm, and reached their peak at 8:45 pm, and the number of outage reports on the site exceeded 74,000 around the world, including about 6,200 reports from India.
Downdetector also recorded an increase in reports of interruptions to Cloudflare and Grok services at the same time, but the problem was mainly limited to the
The error message that appeared to users stated: “Cloudflare is protecting this site, but an error occurred while trying to access it. If the problem is not resolved in the next minutes, the problem is most likely with the web server you are trying to access.”
According to the data, 56% of users around the world reported problems accessing the application, while 39% had difficulty accessing the site.
About 10% cited failure to connect to the server or issues with the post feed/timeline. To date, the X platform has not issued any official statement about the cause of the problem.

What is the reason for the crash of the X platform?
Although yesterday’s outage was not linked to any attack, the X platform was subjected last November to a massive outage that affected large parts of the Internet, but it was not the result of a malicious attack, and so far, there is no indication that today’s outage was intentional or malicious.
It is noteworthy that the outage on January 16 is the latest in a series of recurring technical failures, after widespread outages on January 13, November and October of last year due to a defect that struck the Cloudflare network, as well as in July and August, which prevented thousands of users from using the platform. Cloudflare is a global network that secures websites, applications, teams and networks.
This outage comes after the X platform faced increasing criticism, especially after Grok, xAI’s chatbot built into X, made it possible to implement user requests to edit real images of women, and even children, in illegal and non-consensual sexual or violent content.
