Circuit 20 of the New Cairo Court, sitting in the Fifth Settlement, began the trial session of Sarah Khalifa and others, against the backdrop of accusing them of unlawfully detaining her private driver.

Investigations revealed that during the month of October 2021, a prior criminal agreement occurred between the accused Sarah Khalifa and the accused Fathi Khaled, known as Fathi Al-Abyad, to detain the victim M. Sh. A in her residence in Agouza, assaulting him by beating him, causing him to be injured with a firearm and two knives, assaulting his honour, photographing him naked, and threatening to publish the video clip if he reported their action to the police.

Investigations added that this was in retaliation for him providing information about the whereabouts of the accused Fathi Khaled Fathi because he was escaping from a case at the time, after the accused Fathi Khaled, known as Fathi Al-Abyad, learned to guide the victim about his hiding place to escape from a case.

Investigations indicated that he informed the accused, Sarah Khalifa, of his suspicions, so the accused took advantage of the victim’s presence with her because he was her private driver, and asked him to go up to her house and confronted him with her suspicions, so the victim confessed to her. Following that, the accused informed the accused, Fathi Al-Abyad, and they agreed together to detain the victim until the rest of the accused arrived to assault him, violate his honor, and photograph him naked.
