The US military is deploying a large amphibious assault ship with thousands of additional Marines and sailors in the Middle East, three US officials told Reuters on Friday, as Iran’s new supreme leader praised Iran’s unity and resistance.

The sources revealed that the US Army is sending additional forces to the Middle East and that they may participate in a landing operation on Iranian territory, explaining that at the present time there are about 50,000 American soldiers.
Reuters reported that Washington, which is striving to reopen the oil corridor at the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has closed since the US-Israeli attack about three weeks ago, was considering deployments that amount to airdrops.
The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, did not clarify the role that the additional forces would play.
The news came shortly after President Donald Trump once again took out his anger at US allies for refusing to help open the strait while the fighting continued, even though it was a conflict they were not consulted about or informed about, writing: Cowards, we will remember you!
