US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the United States has not yet received an Iranian response to the 15-item proposal put forward by the Trump administration to negotiate an end to the war with Iran, indicating that the response may come at any moment.

“We have not received a response yet,” Rubio told CNN. “We have messages, and we have exchanged messages and signals from the Iranian regime, what is left of it, about its willingness to talk about some things.”

Rubio added that the United States is waiting for clarification about the other party that will represent Iran at the negotiating table, after the American and Israeli strikes resulted in the killing of many leaders of the Iranian regime.

Rubio asked: “Who will we talk to? What will we talk about, and when?”, adding that those answers could come “at any moment,” pointing to today or tomorrow as a possible possibility.

He explained that the Iranians will confirm their seriousness about the talks as soon as they clarify who will speak on their behalf, what topics they will address, and when they will be ready for the meeting.
