Austrian press reports revealed that the German was approaching Jurgen Klopp From leaving his position within the Red Bull Salzburg group, in light of the decline in results and the failure to achieve the expected goals.

According to the Austrian newspaper Salzburger Nachrichten, Klopp’s days as sporting director of football at the Red Bull Group may be numbered, after the results of the first year were much lower than the management’s aspirations, which prompted it to consider making decisive decisions during the coming period.
The newspaper pointed out that although Klopp’s contract extends until 2029, there is a possibility that the contract will be terminated early, perhaps by the middle of this year.
Reports stated that Red Bull’s management has put a prominent name in place to succeed him, namely Austrian Oliver Glasner, the current coach of Crystal Palace, who previously coached in the German League.
The newspaper also explained that Glasner may become available in mid-2026 at the end of his contract with the English club, which makes him a strong option within the corridors of the group.
Klopp had assumed supervision of the sporting operations of Red Bull teams around the world, and was recently forced to intervene directly in a file related to the Red Bull Bragantino Club in Brazil, where he participated last year in the decision that ended with the dismissal of Fernando Siabra, before contributing to the appointment of Wagner Mancini as his replacement.

In a related context, the name of former Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has recently been linked to the possibility of taking over as coach of Real Madrid, in light of the speculation surrounding the future of Alvaro Arbeloa, the current Merengue coach, which opens the door to the possibility of him returning to coaching work again if he leaves the Red Bull Group.
