US Secretary of State Marco confirmed RubioThe United States believes that it now has a clear understanding of the Russian position on the path to settling the Ukrainian crisis, stressing that the success of any peace plan remains dependent on Moscow’s approval.
Rubio explained during a press conference that followed the Geneva talks on Ukraine, in which representatives from Europe and Kiev participated, that it is self-evident that the Russians have the right to vote here, right? So, look, we started from the early stage of this process with our understanding of the Russian position, and it was communicated to us in many ways.
The American minister added that the American settlement plan cannot be adopted without Russia’s approval, stressing: This is one of the equations of the file…they must agree.

Rubio said: We came here today with one goal, which is to review 28 or 26 items, depending on the version… and try to narrow the scope of the outstanding issues.
He added: I will not speculate or go into the details of any specific point in the latest version of the proposal, because, frankly, the situation may change more by tomorrow or the next.
Rubio added: We want to reach an agreement on the proposed American plan as soon as possible. We have made great progress, and we have achieved progress, so I am optimistic that we will resolve this issue as quickly as possible, very soon.
