Banks have developed an urgent emergency plan to deal with securing cash in automated teller machines (ATMs) during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period, which began yesterday, Thursday, March 19, and ends next Monday, March 23, 2026, which includes periodic maintenance operations and a review of the volume of cash inside the ATM to meet the needs of the public.
According to a banking source told Cairo 24, regular work schedules are made that require 24-hour shifts, and their mission is to review the operation of the ATM machines and ensure the continuous supply of cash from different denominations of money according to the capacity of each machine, in addition to ensuring that electrical current is connected to them, especially since some machines depend on direct electrical current from the place in which they are located, whether a government or private institution.
