Long live Dar Opera The anniversary of the passing of the brown nightingale, Abdel Halim Hafez, during two successive concerts, led by maestro Dr. Mohamed Al-Moji and the participation of singers Mohamed Hassan, Ahmed Effat, Hossam Hosni, Yasser Saeed, Noha Hafez, Alaa Ayoub, and Ahmed Essam, at six-thirty in the evening on Sunday and Monday, March 29 and 30, at the Grand Theater.
The program includes selections from Nightingale’s masterpieces that have been linked to and shaped the consciences of generations, including Al-Tawbah, The Cup Reader, Your Love Is Fire, By the Order of Love duet, Something Strange, Almighty, I Tell You, and other works that represent prominent landmarks in the history of Arabic singing.
The two concerts come within the framework of the Opera House’s plans to celebrate the symbols of music and singing, and to revive works that represent an aspect of Egyptian and Arab creativity.
The anniversary of the passing of the brown nightingale, Abdel Halim Hafez, falls on March 30, when he died in March 30, 1977.
In the context of the latest update announced by the Opera House regarding amending the show dates to begin at 6:30 pm, starting Saturday, March 28, it explained that the measure comes as a temporary regulatory step related to the current changes at the regional and international levels and in light of the instructions issued by the Council of Ministers regarding rationalization of energy consumption.
The Opera House indicated that the decision is subject to continuous review according to the development of the situation, provided that the dates will be reconsidered once conditions stabilize, allowing a return to the usual system of performances.
The Opera stressed that this amendment highlights the balance between adherence to the state’s regulatory procedures and maintaining the continuity of the enlightening and artistic message while ensuring that performances are presented in the best possible way to the public.
