Dr. Abdel Aziz Qanswa, Minister, held the meeting Higher education And scientific research held a meeting with Dr. Mamoun Muhammad, Professor of Functional Subjects at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, and in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Sharqawi, Assistant Minister for Policies and Economic Affairs. To discuss the steps of establishing a branch of the Spanish University in Egypt, within the framework of the state’s efforts to enhance international academic cooperation and develop the higher education system.

Project to establish a Spanish university in Egypt

During the meeting, Dr. Mamoun Muhammad reviewed the proposed vision for the project to establish a Spanish university in Egypt, which includes a number of colleges and academic specializations in the fields of engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, arts, and knowledge, in addition to the mechanisms for starting studies in them, as well as examining the number of years of study in the various academic programs.

Dr. Abdul Aziz Qanswa stressed that the state is paying great attention to expanding hosting branches of distinguished international universities, which contributes to transferring global academic expertise to Egypt and providing advanced educational opportunities for students within the country.

The Minister added that the establishment of prestigious international branches represents an important step towards strengthening international academic partnerships, noting the importance of the project including the establishment of centers of scientific excellence in the fields that characterize the mother university, so that Egyptian and foreign professors work jointly in them, which contributes to the production of applied scientific research that can be implemented and serves the industry and development sectors.

The Minister also stressed the need for these research centers to be linked to partnerships with Egyptian public universities. This enhances integration between academic institutions and contributes to maximizing the benefit of scientific and research expertise.

For his part, Dr. Mamoun Muhammad confirmed that the project to establish a branch of a Spanish university in Egypt is…It aims to provide educational programmesA modern university in accordance with the latest European academic systems, explaining that the university will work to prepare graduates who possess advanced scientific and applied skills.

He pointed out the endeavor to provide an advanced educational model that combines academic study, scientific research and practical application. This contributes to preparing qualified cadres capable of competing in the labor market locally and internationally.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Sharqawi, Assistant Minister of Higher Education for Policy and Economic Affairs, explained that establishing a branch of a Spanish university in Egypt comes within the framework of the Ministry’s strategy to expand hosting branches of prestigious foreign universities, in a way that supports the competitiveness of the higher education system and provides students with international educational opportunities within Egypt.

He added that this step contributes to strengthening international scientific cooperation and transferring academic and technological expertise to Egyptian universities, thus supporting the state’s efforts in building a knowledge-based economy.

The meeting discussed the future advantages of graduates of the Spanish University, as they are expected to obtain high-quality education according to European standards, which will enhance their opportunities to work inside and outside Egypt.
