Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, inspected the Umm Al-Masryeen Hospital development project, today, Saturday, to follow up on implementation rates and raise efficiency, as part of his series of field tours to follow up on the progress of work in the health system.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the ministry’s official spokesman, explained that the minister reviewed the project implementation rates and the job description of the hospital, which has a capacity of 407 beds, including 309 inpatient beds, 55 intensive care beds, 9 pediatric intensive care beds, 12 nurseries, 22 care beds for premature babies, in addition to 23 dialysis chairs, 10 operating rooms, and 37 outpatient clinics. The minister directed a study to increase the number of floors of the clinic building to 7 floors to accommodate Increasing numbers of undecided people.

He continued that the minister held a meeting with medical teams, stressing that the development work aims to raise the level of health services and enhance medical infrastructure and equipment, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

He pointed out that the Minister directed the adoption of the specialties of the Egyptian Fellowship for doctors and the continuation of their training programs, coinciding with the transfer of the service to Boulaq Al-Dakrour Hospital. He also directed that the audiology department be supported with more medical devices and equipment.

He pointed to the Minister’s emphasis on coordination with the Governor of Giza to facilitate the movement of patients between the two hospitals, and his directive to form a work team of hospital doctors to follow up on the implementation of the project and ensure the best results are achieved according to actual needs.

The Minister was accompanied on his tour by Dr. Peter Wagih, Assistant Minister for Therapeutic Medicine Affairs, Dr. Sherif Mostafa, Assistant Minister for National Projects, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hakim, Head of the Central Administration for Therapeutic Medicine, Dr. Mohamed Al-Sadfi, Head of the Central Administration for Urgent and Critical Care, and Dr. Ishaq Jamil, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Giza.
