Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, received Ambassador Askar Genis, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Egypt, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Capital, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of health and pharmaceutical manufacturing technology.

During the meeting, the Minister stressed the Ministry’s keenness to develop the partnership through transferring pharmaceutical manufacturing technology, unifying Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards, and opening new horizons for trade and investment exchange between the two countries.

Abdel Ghaffar stressed the importance of cooperation in the fields of pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotechnology, research and development, medical and regulatory capacity building, vaccination programs, and public health initiatives, with a focus on exporting Egyptian products, including Hepatitis C treatment drugs and EIPICO products.

The meeting discussed the executive position on joint cooperation files, including the development of joint production, technology transfer, and research into vaccines and biological products, based on the pioneering Egyptian experiences in pharmaceutical manufacturing and public health and the historical relations between the two countries.

The meeting concluded with the Minister’s official invitation to the Kazakh Minister of Health to visit a number of hospitals and pharmaceutical production lines in Egypt, to learn about the Egyptian health system and the promising investment opportunities, in a way that enhances the advancement of the health sector in both countries.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Zainab Al-Sadr, Assistant Deputy Minister, Dr. Suzan Abdel Moneim, Director General of the General Administration of External Health Relations, and Dr. Hind Ashour, Director General of the General Administration of Pharmacy.
