The Ministry of Education issued instructions to secondary school students, first and second grades, regarding the March 2026 exams, indicating that the exams will be prepared at the educational administration level by the first subject instructor in each school.
Education: The March examination system for the first and second year of secondary school is 85% electronic.
The Ministry confirmed that the examination paper will include 85% multiple choice questions (MCQ) performed electronically on tablet devices, and 15% short essay questions that the student will answer on paper.
These instructions aim to integrate technology into the educational process and facilitate student assessment in a fair and accurate manner, while maintaining the handwriting element in essay questions.
The Ministry explained that the electronic exam is the primary means of evaluating students, with the possibility of resorting to the paper exam only in cases of extreme necessity, after confirming the reasons through the school’s technological development official.
The Ministry also stressed the necessity of preparing three different exam models, equal in level of difficulty, to ensure fairness among all students.
The Ministry confirmed that any technical malfunction while taking the exam on tablet devices must be documented in an official report in the presence of invigilators and a technological development specialist, in order to preserve the rights of students.
The Ministry stressed that the paper-based exam will only be applied to students who do not receive tablet devices, such as home and service students and some private school students, or students whose schools teach without an Internet connection, to ensure that no student is harmed by the electronic system.
