Dr. Ayed Al-Hilali, advisor to the Iraqi Prime Minister, said that the Kurds have a problem even with their local entitlement, as members of the Kurdistan Union say that there has been harm to the party, and it has not fully obtained its entitlement.

Al-Hilali added, during television statements: “But the brothers in the Kurdistan Democratic Party say that the Union has obtained all the prosecution offices in Kurdistan, such as the presidential prosecution, the ministers’ prosecution, and the parliament’s prosecution.”
He continued: “The Union also obtained 9 ministries out of 10, and the Democrats believe that this entitlement is destined for the National Union, but the National Union covets more than that.”
He added: “We are witnessing a new conflict born out of the insistence of the brothers in the Kurdistan Democratic Party on a basic issue, which is how to obtain the position of the presidency of the republic. The brothers in the Kurdistan Democratic Party believe that the foreign ministry going to the Shiite component means the Kurds losing a very important joint, through which the Kurds used to communicate with international organizations and embassies of the world, given that this entitlement was a democratic entitlement, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party was running this joint.”
He explained: “On this basis, they were promoting their Kurdish cause in international forums and concluding partnerships, agreements, etc. However, the National Union, which held the Presidency of the Republic for long periods, did not work to market the Kurdish cause as the Kurdistan Democratic Party did, and on this basis the brothers in the Kurdistan Democratic Party see their obtaining the position of the Presidency of the Republic in the presence of Fuad Hussein, who worked as Minister of Foreign Affairs for two successive terms and Minister of Finance in the Iraqi government… They believe that this man is capable “It will play a major role in maintaining the dialogues that have been opened between the Kurds and the regional and international community, and this is the basic problem that has complicated the problem in the Kurdistan region.”
