Major General Tariq Rashid, Governor of Sohag, witnessed the ceremony honoring memorizers of the Holy Qur’an, which was held in Al-Arif Billah Square, in the presence of Major General Ahmed Mustafa Al-Sayes, Secretary General of the Governorate, and Dr. Abdel Majeed Al-Kirmani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments, along with a number of executive leaders, representatives of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Ministry of Endowments, Islamic and Christian clerics, and a number of members of the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Honoring memorizers of the Holy Qur’an in Sohag

The ceremony began with the playing of the national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, then a welcome speech was given to the attendees, welcoming the participants and praising the importance of organizing such religious events that enhance faith values ​​in society.

The celebration included segments of religious chanting, amid great interaction from the audience. 11 memorizers of the Book of God were also honored after passing the qualifying stages in the Holy Quran memorization competition at the governorate level, where they were given certificates of appreciation and in-kind gifts.

During his speech, the Governor of Sohag congratulated the honorees and their families on the occasion of the blessed Night of Destiny and the approaching Eid al-Fitr, expressing his appreciation for the efforts made in organizing the competition, and its role in consolidating religious values ​​and encouraging youth and youth to memorize the Holy Qur’an, stressing that these honorable role models represent role models in society.
