Follow up on the closure of shops in Sohag
In implementation of the directives of the Minister of the Interior, the Sohag Security Directorate has developed an integrated plan to follow up on public stores’ adherence to the scheduled times, and to ensure that they are not opened after the specified dates, while taking the necessary legal measures against violators.
This follow-up comes in implementation of the decision of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, regarding regulating the working hours of public stores nationwide, which stipulates closing at exactly nine in the evening, with work extended until ten in the evening on Thursdays, Fridays, and official holidays.
The Sohag Security Director directed to intensify the security presence in the streets and squares, to follow up on the implementation of the decision and achieve discipline, while supporting joint campaigns between local units and police forces, to control any violations and ensure compliance with the law.
The decision excludes a number of vital activities, such as pharmacies, supermarkets, groceries, bakeries, and fruit and vegetable stores, while allowing 24-hour home delivery services.
These measures come within the framework of the state’s plan to regulate working hours in public stores, reduce randomness, and achieve traffic fluidity, which will reflect positively on the daily lives of citizens and enhance the manifestations of discipline within Al-Sohagi Street.
