Engineer Adel Al-Najjar opened it Governor of Giza, Today, Thursday, there is an exhibition of handicrafts and heritage in the archaeological area of ​​the Giza Pyramids, which is held in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, the Supreme Council of Antiquities and Orascom Pyramids, for three days, in order to support the owners of crafts and handicrafts from the people of the governorate.

The governor pointed out that the exhibition is the 53rd edition of the handicrafts exhibitions organized by the governorate, in which 25 exhibitors from workshop owners in villages famous for these crafts participate, in addition to exhibitors from artisan support associations within the governorate. He explained that it continues to receive visitors until Saturday, February 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

During his conversation with the exhibitors, the governor stressed the Egyptian state’s keenness to support and promote these industries, improve the work environment for its pioneers, enable them to develop their businesses, and increase opportunities for the target audience to meet these products by expanding the holding of exhibitions and ensuring the presence of craftsmen in all tourist forums and entertainment events.

Engineer Adel Al-Najjar also confirmed that the governorate seeks to hold these exhibitions periodically in coordination with various state agencies and investors in support of heritage crafts and preserving cultural identity.

The governor took the attendees on a tour of the exhibition’s pavilions to inspect the products, which included: handmade carpets, leather, halfa products, palm branches, linen, puffins, copper and glass artifacts, precious stones, and Kardasa abayas.

After inspecting the pavilions, the Governor of Giza followed up on the progress of work in the archaeological area of ​​the pyramids, where he was reassured about the rate of arrival of visitors and the regularity of reception and service of delegations. He stressed to the officials of the archaeological area and the company in charge of organizing the necessity of periodically monitoring the itineraries of tourists’ wanderings, implementing periodic maintenance work for the facilities and restrooms, and raising the efficiency of the commercial area, while adhering to the immunization and vaccination schedules for animals and pets, in order to ensure the safety of visitors.

In a related context, the governor stressed the importance of supporting handicrafts as one of the components of the heritage identity of Giza Governorate, stressing the governorate’s continued provision of technical and logistical support to craftsmen in a way that contributes to the sustainability of their projects and expanding the scope of marketing their products locally and internationally.

The governor was accompanied by Hind Abdel Halim, Deputy Governor, Engineer Amr Gazzarin, CEO of Orascom Pyramids Entertainment, Dr. Ashraf Mohieldin, Director of the Pyramids Archaeological Zone, Wael Shaaban, Head of the Central Administration of the Governor’s Office, and Azza Wahdan, Director of the General Administration of Tourism.
