Dr. Jacqueline Azar confirmed, Beheira GovernorA specialized committee was formed from the Facilities Committee at Risk of Collapse, in coordination with a committee from the College of Engineering, to inspect two properties in which cracks were detected on Al-Musheer Street, branching off from Abdel Salam Al-Shazly Street, in the city of Damanhour. One of them consists of ground floor and 8 floors, and the other is ground floor and 10 floors.

The technical committees moved to the site to conduct a thorough field inspection and virtual examination, with the aim of assessing the structural condition of the two properties and determining the extent to which they are affected by cracks and the causes of their occurrence, while indicating the extent of their impact on the safety of residents and neighboring properties.

The inspection work also included monitoring all factors affecting the safety of facilities, including the construction materials used, maintenance status, and potential environmental impacts, to ensure the preparation of a comprehensive report showing the level of risk and the technical and legal procedures necessary to deal with the situation.

Residents were also evacuated from the property, excluding movables, until its suitability and safety were confirmed, in order to ensure the security and safety of the residents.

This move comes within the framework of the governorate’s plan to follow up on all reports related to facilities, and to ensure that precautionary and technical measures are taken immediately, in a way that preserves lives and property, and secures the surrounding buildings.

The committees are scheduled to prepare a detailed technical report that includes the necessary recommendations, in preparation for taking legal and technical measures regarding the two properties, with the immediate implementation of the results of the report, to ensure the highest levels of public safety.
