Artist Ayman Azab, a member of the Council of the Acting Professions Syndicate, revealed details of the efforts made to dissuade the doctor Ashraf Zaki About his decision to resign from his position as head of the Acting Professions Syndicate, stressing that the members of the union and the General Assembly were rejecting his departure from the beginning.

Ayman Azab said in statements to Cairo 24 that he, accompanied by the artist Ahmed Badir, the union’s agent, was keen to visit Ashraf Zaki to persuade him to reverse his decision, adding: We told him that we would not be able to continue without him, and the general assembly was also determined that he complete and not leave his position.

He pointed out that the efforts of the union members and the support of the General Assembly played a decisive role in Zaki’s retracting of his resignation, saying: Thank God he responded.

During the past hours, the Council of the Acting Professions Syndicate this Friday afternoon surprised the artist, Dr. Ashraf Zaki, by coming to his home, in an exceptional visit aimed at supporting him and standing by his side in order to retract his resignation that he announced a few weeks ago.

During the meeting, the members of the Council expressed their full commitment to Dr. Ashraf Zaki, stressing that his presence at the head of the union represents a professional and national necessity to maintain the stability of union work, and the continuation of the achievements achieved during his presidency. They also stressed that his resignation does not concern only his person, but rather affects the entire entity of the union and the General Assembly, which gave him its confidence and support.

The Council demanded that he rescind his resignation, because of the union and artistic value he represents, as he is capable of leading the union at the current stage, unifying the ranks, preserving the rights of artists, and strengthening the union’s role as a legal umbrella that protects its people.
