Walid Abdel Wahab, President of the Cairo International Stadium, confirmed that the stadium management was not responsible for the incident of a fan entering wearing a Tunisia club Esperance shirt during yesterday’s training session, stressing that the stadium has nothing to do with permits for the presence of individuals inside the stadium.
Abdel Wahab explained in exclusive statements to Cairo 24 that the fan’s entry was made by the media coordinator of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), who is the authority responsible for organizing media matters and permits during official training, especially in continental matches.
The President of Cairo Stadium pointed out that the stadium management is committed to all regulatory instructions and controls, stressing that their role is limited to preparing and securing the stadium in accordance with the instructions issued by the organizing authorities, without interfering in granting entry permits.
Al-Ahly complains to the President of Cairo Stadium to the Minister of Sports because of a fan
In the same context, Al-Ahly Club, headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, submitted an official complaint to Gohar Nabil, Minister of Youth and Sports, against the Chairman of the Cairo International Stadium Authority, against the backdrop of an incident that took place in the stadium before the team’s upcoming match against Esperance of Tunisia.
According to what a private source confirmed to Cairo 24, the Al-Ahly club management’s complaint came about the circulation of offensive videos of the Red Castle, which were filmed from inside the Cairo International Stadium. The videos show a fan wearing an Esperance T-shirt directing insults at Al-Ahly club, which the administration considered a negligence in oversight inside the stadium.
