American cardiologist Sanjay Bhojraj revealed a simple technique that can reduce… pressure Blood transfusion in less than two minutes, without the need for additional medications or complex lifestyle changes.
According to the World Health Organization, high blood pressure is the silent killer and one of the main causes of premature death globally, with about 1.4 billion people suffering from it. Although many people focus on reducing salt or taking medications, Dr. Bhojraj believes that the nervous system plays an essential role that is often ignored in regulating blood pressure.
The two-minute technique to reduce stress
According to Hindustan Times, the doctor explained that the secret lies in controlled breathing, especially lengthening the exhalation period to stimulate the vagus nerve and reduce the activity of the sympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the fight-or-flight response.
The method is as follows:
- Inhale through the nose for 4 seconds.
- Exhale slowly for 6 to 8 seconds.
- Repeat the cycle for two consecutive minutes.
He emphasized that long exhalation contributes to reducing blood vessel resistance, which may lead to a decrease in systolic blood pressure within minutes.
Low systolic blood pressure
Bhojraj pointed out that clinical studies on slow breathing have shown an average reduction in systolic blood pressure of between 5 and 10 mm Hg with regular practice, an effect that is close to the results of some initial pharmacological interventions.
While blood pressure is not just numbers related to weight or salt, it is a direct signal from the nervous system, explaining that some patients do not notice an immediate improvement even after losing weight, because their nervous systems remain in a state of constant tension.
Bhojraj stressed the importance of continuity, and advised trying a two-minute breathing exercise daily while recording blood pressure readings for two weeks, to notice actual changes.
