The Egyptian Opera House presents a selection of immortal musical works By the artist Fayrouzheaded by Dr. Alaa Abdel Salam, during the Abdel Halim Nouira Arab Music Ensemble’s concert, led by Maestro Ahmed Amer, at eight o’clock in the evening, Thursday, December 11, at the Grand Theater.

It is noteworthy that the great artist Fayrouz was born in 1935 in Lebanon. Her real name is Nihad Wadih Haddad. She loved singing since childhood, and her talent was discovered at the age of fourteen by the composer Muhammad Fleifel, one of the founders of the National Institute of Music, and he enrolled her in it. She worked on the Lebanese radio as a member of the choir before the composer Halim Al-Roumi discovered the greatness of her voice.

He gave her the name Fairouz because her voice resembled a precious stone, and he chose her to perform solo outside the choir and presented her with a number of his melodies. Her meeting with the brothers Assi and Mansour Rahbani was the turning point in her career, as they wrote and composed many of her works. She later married Assi Rahbani and traveled with him and his brother Mansour on tours and concerts around the world, which increased her brilliance and fame. She performed hundreds of musical works and received many medals and honors, including the Medal of Honor. 1963, the gold medal in 1975 in Jordan, the Legion of Honor in France 2020, and others.
