Dr. Amr Kandil, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, conducted a field inspection visit to the governorate SohagDuring which he was accompanied by Dr. Amr Dowidar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sohag, to follow up on the progress of work in health facilities and determine the level of medical services provided to citizens, and this was within the framework of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population.

The visit included an inspection of a number of hospitals and primary health care facilities, where the Deputy Minister of Health began his tour with a visit to Girga General Hospital, where he reviewed the reception and emergency departments, the children’s department, neonatal care, the internal department, radiology, the blood bank, the laboratory, and pharmacies, and made sure of the regularity of work, the availability of medical staff, and the readiness of the various departments, in the presence of the hospital administration.
The Deputy Minister of Health also inspected the Family Medicine Unit in Najou Mazen, affiliated with the Dar es Salaam Center, east of the governorate, and directed the development of a comprehensive training plan to raise the efficiency of nursing staff, stressing the need to improve the quality of performance and listen to citizens to get their opinions and observations regarding the health service provided.
The Deputy Minister of Health concluded his tour by inspecting the Dar es Salaam Central Hospital, where the visit included the reception and emergency departments, radiology, the laboratory, the pediatric inpatient department, and the evening clinics. He directed that the ongoing construction work be followed up and that it be emphasized on the speedy completion of it according to the specified timetables, in a way that contributes to strengthening the health system and improving the level of medical services for citizens. The tour also included a mental health and addiction treatment hospital.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Deputy Minister of Health stressed the importance of continuing field monitoring of health facilities and working to overcome any challenges facing the medical teams, in implementation of the state’s strategy aimed at providing a safe and integrated health service to citizens.
