Dr. Mohamed Lotfy, President of the British University in Egypt, received Ambassador Mark Bryson Richardson, the British Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, on a visit aimed at strengthening academic and cultural cooperation between Egyptian and British educational institutions, and supporting partnerships that contribute to developing the higher education system in accordance with the latest international standards, at the university’s headquarters in Shorouk City.

During the visit, the British Ambassador conducted an inspection tour of the university’s campus that included a number of colleges and educational and research facilities, where he was briefed on the academic capabilities and advanced infrastructure that the university provides to its students, in addition to joint study programs with a number of prestigious British universities.

The tour also included a visit to the university’s student services building, which is the first of its kind in Egyptian universities, as it brings together various student services in one place in an integrated and automated manner, which contributes to facilitating procedures and providing an advanced educational and service experience for students.

Dr. Mohamed Lotfy stressed that this visit reflects the depth of academic relations between Egypt and the United Kingdom, and the role of the British University in Egypt as a scientific and cultural bridge between the two countries, noting the university’s keenness to provide an educational model based on British standards as it is the first university in Egypt and North Africa to obtain accreditation from the British Quality Authority (QAA).

He added that hosting such visits reflects the university’s commitment to exchanging experiences and expanding the horizons of international cooperation for the benefit of students and the academic community alike.

For his part, the British Ambassador expressed his pleasure at visiting the university, praising the development he observed in its educational and technological structure, as well as the quality of the academic programs it offers, stressing that the educational partnership between Egypt and the United Kingdom is one of the most important areas of cooperation between the two countries, stressing that the United Kingdom – as the first provider of cross-border education in Egypt – provides, through this partnership, opportunities for Egyptian youth to obtain education with international standards.
