The committee included Counselor Mohamed Nabil Muharram, a member of the Board of Directors, Engineer Khaled Abdel Mohsen Kamel from Al-Ahly Club, Mr. Malek Mustafa Al-Bahiti from Heliopolis Club, and Mr. Hazem Mohamed Fathallah from Al-Ittihad Club of Alexandria.
In a related context, Tariq Al-Saeed, Vice President of the Federation, confirmed that stopping the recruitment of foreign players for several years may benefit the Egyptian national team, explaining in previous media statements:
“I hope to stop importing foreign players into the Egyptian League for two seasons, because this decision will bring out more local players that the team needs, especially in the playmaker position, which the team suffers from a shortage.”
Al-Saeed added: “If this decision is implemented, it will benefit the national team and the clubs alike, provided that the General Assembly of the Basketball Federation approves this idea.”
