Investigations revealed an incident Maadi busabout the details of the mutual accusation between the two parties, as the investigating authorities listened to the statements of the accused in Case No. 2014 of 2026 Misdemeanor of the Mokattam Police Department, regarding the incident that sparked widespread controversy after a video clip of it was circulated on social networking sites.
Cairo 24 obtained the text of the defendant’s statements in the Maadi bus incident, which revealed details about what happened between him and the girl and the reason for the dispute between them in the case.
The accused’s statements in the Maadi bus incident before the investigating authorities were as follows:
What information about the incident under investigation?
A: What happened is that I am a blacksmith working on the shuttle bus at the Baron Compound. Yesterday, I was riding the public transport bus because I was going home, and suddenly I found a woman in the middle of the bus saying, her voice raised: “A harassing thief.” I remained standing there, shocked by what she was saying, and I found the people who were riding the bus defending me, and I was standing, not knowing what she was saying, until I met her. One time, she took out a phone from her pocket and started filming me. I turned my back because she didn’t want her to film me. I found her determined to film. I went back behind the bus, and the worker kept shouting. People told me: We see everything, and the worker said: It’s my religion to lock you up and expose you.
The accused added: Then I met one of the passengers who was holding a rosary. He said to her: What do you know about religion? Religion is innocent of you and people like you.. I said to her in the text: (What do you know about religion with the clothes you are wearing), and I went to her to put down the phone that she was holding, and I found her putting away her phone and she went to the beginning of the bus, and people surrounded me.
They pushed me until she went to a police station. She complained to the police officers so that they would arrest me. The people pushed me and said that I had not done anything. When I went home, I found my wife waking me up and telling me that there was a video posted on her saying, “You are doing harm to me.” After that, I found the department talking to me, so I went to the department myself and told them everything that had happened, and that she was throwing blasphemes at me, and this is evident from the video.
