The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority announced a temporary and partial closure of the airspace as an exceptional precautionary measure aimed at ensuring the safety of flights and crews and protecting the country’s lands, in light of the acceleration and escalation of security developments in the region.

The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority confirmed – according to what was reported by the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on Saturday – that this decision was based on a comprehensive and accurate assessment of security and operational risks, and in full coordination with the concerned authorities locally and internationally, stressing that the safety of the airspace and air sovereignty of the UAE is considered a top priority.

She explained that she would continue to inform the concerned authorities and the public of any developments as soon as they occurred. She also renewed her call for travelers to communicate with airline companies to follow up on the latest developments regarding flight schedules, stressing that the necessary housing and subsistence will be provided to travelers by airline companies and local authorities.
