Today, Sunday, March 22, 2026, on the third day of Eid al-Fitr, South Sinai Governorate is witnessing a continuing state of instability in weather conditions, accompanied by low temperatures, active winds, light to moderate rain, which may be thundery at times, and cold weather at night, and in the early hours of the morning, especially in the city of St. Catherine, which is witnessing a drop in temperatures to about 2 degrees and frost at night, and the port of Nuweiba continues to be closed due to bad weather conditions until the weather improves for the third day.

For its part, the Meteorological Authority explained that today, Sunday, cold weather will prevail in the morning and chances of light to moderate rain that may be thundery in areas of northern Upper Egypt, the Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba, and northern Red Sea Governorate, reaching torrential rains in areas of South Sinai at intermittent intervals, and active winds on the northern coasts that may raise sand and dust in areas of southern Upper Egypt, southern Red Sea Governorate, and South Sinai, and may lead to reduced visibility and disturbance in maritime navigation in some areas of Mediterranean coasts, wind speeds range from 40-50 km/h and wave heights reach 3 metres.
