The Sohag Al-Azhar region announced the start of procedures for disbursing financial aid to orphaned and poor students and children of dependent mothers, under the orphan sponsorship clause for the academic year 2025/2026. This comes within the framework of the directives of His Eminence the Undersecretary of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif regarding supporting students who are unable.

The region stressed, in an official statement, the need for institute sheikhs to alert social workers or those carrying out their tasks to quickly prepare and submit 5 social studies for each institute, according to the research model for sponsoring orphans and children of breadwinner mothers.
She explained that the required documents include: a copy of the guardian’s national ID card, which must be valid, and an approved income statement, in addition to preparing a list of the five students’ names on Excel, printing it, and delivering it attached to a flash memory.
The region stressed that the deadline for submitting research is April 20, 2026, stressing that no research will be received after this date, or immediately after the number allocated to the Sohag region is complete, whichever comes first, even if that is before the specified date.
She indicated that the delivery of research takes place at the headquarters of the Student Welfare Department in the region, with an emphasis on adherence to all specific controls and procedures to ensure the speedy completion of procedures and disbursement of aid to those eligible.
