This morning, at the headquarters of the Egyptian Presidency in Heliopolis, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi witnessed the swearing-in of the new governors and deputy governors, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Environment.
Sisi directs the necessity of effective supervision of housing projects and the establishment of new cities
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the President held an expanded meeting with the governors and their deputies after taking the constitutional oath, where he congratulated them, stressing the importance of making good use of the resources and capabilities available in each governorate to achieve tangible results that reflect positively on the level of services provided to citizens, and in a way that supports the state’s efforts to achieve comprehensive development.
The President stressed the importance of field work and direct communication with citizens, seriously studying complaints, in addition to strengthening cooperation with executive agencies and investors, stressing that the governor’s success in performing his duties represents a fundamental pillar in supporting the country’s development process.
In this context, the President directed the need for effective and continuous supervision of housing projects and the establishment of new cities, and to work to overcome any obstacles that may face the implementation of these projects, in coordination with the concerned authorities, to ensure speedy completion and achievement of the planned development goals.
The President also stressed the importance of following up on national projects, especially those related to the “Decent Life” initiative, and developing infrastructure, including drinking water, sanitation, and electricity, as well as paying attention to urban planning and preserving the visual identity of the governorates.
The official spokesman indicated that the President also stressed the need to firmly address encroachments on agricultural lands and state property, work to improve the quality of life for citizens, and promote sustainable development, especially in governorates with tourism potential, in a way that contributes to supporting the national economy and consolidating Egypt’s position as a distinguished development and tourism destination.
