Referring a person for criminal prosecution on charges of impersonating a lawyer
According to the referral order issued by the South Giza Public Prosecution, headed by Counselor Osama Abu Al-Khair, the First Public Attorney, in Case No. 16521 of 2025, Giza District Felony, registered under No. 822 of 2025, South Giza District Court, “Zayed H. A., 50 years old, holds a Bachelor of Laws (fugitive), was accused of representing himself legally as a lawyer for the owner of the Mansourieh Trading and Contracting Company, and attending Litigation sessions and legal proceedings were conducted on his behalf, despite his registration from the Bar Association having been dropped since 2015.
Investigations revealed that the accused undertook the legal procedures, attendance and pleading in Case No. 4744 of 137 BC, as a lawyer and legal agent for the Al-Mansouriya Trading and Contracting Company, relying on an official power of attorney, and dictated his data to the secretary of the session, who proved his status as a lawyer in the minutes of the session in good faith, without his knowledge that his registration from the union had been removed.
The investigation authorities confirmed that the accused deliberately presented himself as a lawyer in charge of handling the company’s cases before the Court of Appeal, which resulted in him proving an incorrect fact in an official document, falsifying the minutes of a judicial session, in addition to impersonating the status of a lawyer and practicing law work unlawfully.
The investigation authorities charged the accused with committing the felony and misdemeanor stipulated in Articles 40, 41, and 213 of the Penal Code, and Article 1/227 of the Law on the Legal Profession, and decided to refer him to criminal trial to decide on the charges against him.
