The Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater announced that it has raised the maximum level of preparedness in all subsidiaries across the governorates of the Republic, to deal with the wave of weather fluctuations and rainfall, according to reports issued by the General Authority of Meteorology, which indicate that a number of governorates are exposed to a state of instability in weather conditions, including chances of rain of varying intensity.

Engineer Ahmed Jaber Shehata, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater, directed that the state of emergency be lifted at all work sites, and that equipment, suction vehicles, and pumps be prepared and spread across the main axes and squares, while intensifying the work of disinfecting the shanayesh, pipes, and sewage networks, to ensure the rapid drainage of rainwater and the absence of accumulations that impede traffic movement.

He also stressed the continuation of full coordination between the emergency rooms of the subsidiaries, the operating rooms in the governorates, and the concerned authorities, in addition to raising the level of readiness of the hotline 125 and the customer service centers to receive citizens’ complaints and deal with them immediately.

Engineer Ahmed Jaber stressed the importance of continuous field monitoring of all sites, and the deployment of emergency teams around the clock, with the readiness of lifting stations and equipment to deal immediately with any emergency, stressing the speed of response and dealing with reports in a way that ensures the stability of services provided to citizens.

The Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater confirmed its full readiness to deal with the repercussions of the unstable weather, and to take all necessary precautionary measures to maintain the regularity of drinking water and wastewater services throughout the Republic.
