I witnessed Port Said Governorate During the past 24 hours, there have been a series of service and organizational efforts aimed at improving the level of services and achieving discipline in the streets, as Major General Ibrahim Abu Laymoun, Governor of Port Said, directed the development of a comprehensive plan to illuminate and raise the efficiency of street lights in various neighborhoods, in implementation of efforts to improve the level of services provided to citizens and enhance the efficiency of the utility system in the governorate.
Port Said x 24 hours | A plan to light 5,000 floodlights in the streets
He directed Governor The agencies concerned with preparing an integrated plan to light approximately 5,000 floodlights in a number of streets and areas that need to support the level of lighting, which contributes to improving night vision and enhancing safety factors for citizens, in addition to supporting traffic flow, especially on vital roads. He also stressed the periodic follow-up of maintenance work, raising the efficiency of lighting poles and floodlights, and quickly dealing with any malfunctions that are monitored to ensure the continued efficiency of the lighting system in various regions.
In the same context, the Governor of Port Said stressed the intensification of campaigns to remove occupancies and encroachments on roads and sidewalks in various neighbourhoods, stressing that the road is an inherent right of the citizen and will not be allowed in any way to be encroached on or disrupt the movement of pedestrians. He pointed to the continuation of field campaigns in coordination with the concerned authorities to remove occupancies that obstruct traffic and distort the civilized appearance of the streets, while taking legal measures against violators.
In terms of daily service efforts, the executive agencies in the neighborhoods and city of Port Fouad continued to implement their field plans to improve the level of cleanliness and develop the infrastructure, as Ms. Samar Al-Mawafi, President of the City of Port Fouad, inspected the work of developing and raising the efficiency of low-cost “university” housing areas, which included widening roads, allocating parking spaces for cars, installing decorative lighting poles, and implementing landscaping works, in addition to strengthening rain drainage and sewage networks.
In the Al-Sharq neighbourhood, the work of pruning and refining palm trees and brochardia trees in Al-Amal Park and irrigating the green areas on July 23 Street were carried out, which contributes to improving traffic visibility and highlighting the aesthetic and cultural aspect of the area.
The executive authorities in the Arab neighborhood also continued to follow up on the cleaning system in coordination with the “Nahdet Misr” company, where the work of household collection and manual and automatic sweeping was intensified in a number of areas, including Ard Al-Ezba, Al-Arab Al-Qadeem, Al-Salam Tamlik, and Tarh Al-Bahr Street, with an emphasis on the speed of responding to citizens’ complaints.
The executive authorities in Al-Manakh district led an extensive campaign in the second district of Tameer to remove the occupancies and encroachments that impede traffic, which resulted in widening the roads and achieving traffic flow, while sending warnings to the violating shops of the necessity of adhering to the legal spaces.
In the Al-Zohour neighborhood, the district president followed up on the work of removing the accumulations of spraying and waste on Al-Sayyid Sarhan Street, west of the old Damietta parking lot, where heavy equipment was deployed to remove the accumulations immediately, while monitoring continued to prevent the return of waste spots again.
The suburbs neighborhood also witnessed the implementation of intensive clean-up campaigns in a number of streets and vital areas, including Abdel Rahman Shukri Street, the Housing Bank area, A2 area, Field Marshal Tantawi Street, and Al-Amin Al-Jadeed, where the work included sweeping the streets, removing waste, and shoveling sand to preserve the environment and the civilized appearance.
In the South District, maintenance and strengthening work was carried out for the public lighting network in the vicinity of the Correction and Rehabilitation Center south of Port Said, where faulty floodlights were repaired and new lighting units were installed as part of the district’s plan to secure vital areas and raise the efficiency of public lighting.
The city of Port Fouad also witnessed the implementation of development works for green spaces on September 15th Street in response to the governor’s directives during his recent field visit. The works included implementing landscaping and planting palm trees to improve the aesthetic appearance of the street and expand the green spaces.
Within the framework of the monitoring campaigns, the executive agencies in the Suburbia district, in coordination with the Supply Directorate, carried out an inspection campaign on one of the refrigerators belonging to a shipping supplies company. The campaign resulted in the seizure of 6 cartons of expired toast bread and 29 cartons of butter of unknown origin, and the necessary legal measures were taken regarding the incident.
The governorate also witnessed a monitoring and service movement in a number of different sectors, as the Supply Directorate was able to seize a car loaded with about a quarter of a ton of expired meat products before distributing them in the markets, while the Health Affairs Directorate carried out awareness meetings for citizens about healthy nutrition during the month of Ramadan and dealing with chronic diseases during fasting.
On the educational level, the Directorate of Education witnessed the final qualifiers for the “Recite the Qur’an in Recitation” competition for the primary stage with the participation of 16 male and female students, with the aim of discovering talents in recitation and intonation and enhancing religious values among students.
In the youth and sports sector, the Stadium Youth Center organized a cultural and artistic evening in cooperation with the Port Said Culture Palace, which included singing and performing performances and poetry recitals amid a large public presence, while the activities of the Ramadan Intellectual Forum continued in a number of mosques in the governorate as part of the activities of the Endowments Directorate, which witnesses a large turnout of worshipers during the evening and Tarawih prayers.
