During the past 24 hours, Port Said Governorate witnessed an extensive field tour by Major General of Staff Moheb Habashi, Governor of Port Said, to follow up on the progress of work in a number of service and development projects, determine the executive position on the ground, and make immediate decisions to improve the level of services provided to citizens.

The governor announced the implementation of more than 60% of the construction work for constructing two shelters to house stray dogs in the New Qabuti area, south of Port Said, on a total area of 2,200 square metres, where work was carried out in accordance with veterinary requirements and approved standards, within the framework of civilized and humane dealing with the phenomenon, while preserving public health. He directed that the work be quickly completed within 15 days, with full adherence to technical specifications and quality of implementation.
The governor explained that procedures are underway to propose the construction of a third shelter on an area of 1,000 square meters in the city of Port Fouad, in support of the shelter system, while work on the existing shelter in the city of Port Fouad continues, thus enhancing the governorate’s efforts in this vital file.
During his tour, the governor inspected the industrial area, where he followed the breakage of the sewage line on the road leading to the Sinmar area. He directed that the line be quickly repaired and the necessary maintenance work carried out at the expense of the industrial area immediately, to prevent the problem from recurring in the future. He also directed that the road leading to the Sinmar area be paved with a length of 550 meters at the expense of the Sinmar factory, to improve traffic flow and improve the civilized appearance.
During his inspection of the Emirati neighborhood in South Port Said, the governor directed the removal of occupancies and encroachments that impede the movement of citizens and vehicles, and to take legal measures against violators. He also assigned the Roads and Transport Directorate to study the paving of roads and the area surrounding Mohamed Mahran Mall, and to discuss the most appropriate technical solutions to implement development work and raise the efficiency of the infrastructure.
In a related context, the Governor of Port Said inspected the livestock fattening station in South Port Said after receiving 300 heads of livestock as a first stage, and directed that it adhere to the highest standards of veterinary care and proper nutrition, and intensify follow-up to ensure the quality of meat and provide it at reasonable prices to citizens, in preparation for the month of Ramadan, which contributes to achieving stability in the markets and alleviating the burdens on citizens.
At the conclusion of his tour, the governor met with a number of residents of the Al-Qabouti area in the Suburbia neighborhood, listened to their demands related to basic services, and directed the rapid installation of smart electricity meters in coordination with the electricity company. He also stressed the competent agencies to quickly solve sanitation problems in the area, through urgent coordination between the concerned authorities to implement radical solutions.
