Engineer Saleh Abdel Moneim Ragheb, a member of the House of Representatives, submitted a briefing request to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, addressed to the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, within the framework of Parliament’s oversight role and its keenness to achieve transparency and maximize the use of state resources in a way that serves citizens.

In the briefing request, the representative requested the disclosure of financial allocations for community participation for oil companies operating in the areas of Dekheila, Amriya, and Borg El Arab in Alexandria Governorate, with an explanation of the ways in which these funds are spent and the extent to which they are reflected in the level of development and services provided to citizens in those areas that include the largest concentration of oil companies in the republic.

The member of the House of Representatives explained that the briefing request aims to determine the total value of community participation funds allocated by each company during recent years, in addition to re-evaluating spending priorities to ensure that they are directed optimally in a way that achieves the greatest benefit for the people of the region, especially in the sectors of health, education, sanitation, and road paving, as well as supporting the villages and areas most in need.

He pointed out that the western Alexandria region represents great economic and strategic importance, as it hosts a large number of oil companies, which requires that this industrial and economic weight be reflected in the form of real development and tangible services that directly benefit citizens.
