On the twenty-fourth night of the blessed month of Ramadan, Al-Azhar Mosque witnessed a large turnout of worshipers who came to commemorate the last ten nights, in a spiritual atmosphere full of tranquility and reverence, hoping for God’s forgiveness and satisfaction and freedom from the flames, and to seize the scents of these blessed nights in which Muslims are keen to increase prayer, remembrance, and recitation of the Holy Qur’an.
Tarawih lesson at Al-Azhar Mosque explains the importance of the blessing of security in the stability of societies
During the Tarawih lesson, Dr. Hani Odeh, Director General of Al-Azhar Mosque, stressed that the blessing of security is one of the greatest blessings that God has bestowed on societies, explaining that the stability and progress of nations cannot be achieved except with the presence of security and tranquility among members of society. Security is the foundation upon which civilizations are built and nations advance, and without it no development or prosperity can be achieved in any society.
His Eminence pointed out that Islam gave great attention to the issue of security, making the preservation of life, money, and honor among the greatest goals of Islamic law. The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, also presented a practical model in consolidating the values of security and stability within society, calling for the need for members of society to have virtuous morals, to stay away from evil and transgressions, and to adhere to knowledge and faith. Because they are the real way to build a good and secure society.
The Director General of Al-Azhar Mosque explained that the Holy Qur’an stressed the importance of security in the lives of nations, citing the supplication of the Prophet of God, Abraham, peace be upon him: “My Lord, make this a safe country,” indicating that God Almighty’s response to this supplication was a great blessing to the nation, stressing that Muslims must wake up from their negligence and adhere to the Sunnah of their Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, until the nation regains its strength. And its unity, it is one nation united by one Lord and one religion.
Al-Azhar Mosque continues to perform its scientific and advocacy mission during the holy month through an integrated Ramadan program that includes scientific lessons and awareness lectures presented by an elite group of senior scholars and professors from Al-Azhar University, as part of the efforts of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif to spread correct religious awareness and consolidate faith values in the souls of Muslims.
