The Moroccan Football Federation announced the appointment of… Muhammad Wehbe As a new technical director for the first national team, the federation also confirmed the strengthening of the team’s technical staff with the addition of Portuguese coach Joao Sacramento as assistant coach.

According to the official statement of the Moroccan Football Federation, these decisions come within the “Morocco 2030” plan presented by Fawzi Lakjaa, President of the Federation, with the aim of raising performance standards and developing Moroccan football at all levels.

Lakjaa stressed that this change is not just a change of names, but rather a strategic transfer linking the first team and the youth and women’s football sectors, to consolidate Morocco’s position among the top international teams.

Mohamed Wehbe… Moroccan leadership of a global project

The step of appointing Mohamed Wehbe confirms the Moroccan Federation’s commitment to keeping its sports project under national leadership. Wehbe is considered one of the most prominent technical cadres in the player training system in Morocco, as he achieved a historic achievement leading the youth team. Tunder 20 years of age to win the World Cup title, proving his ability to build strong teams and develop young talents capable of competing internationally.

Strengthening the technical staff with the expertise of the Premier League and Europe

To raise the team’s efficiency, the Moroccan Federation signed Portuguese Joao Sacramento to join the technical staff. Sacramento has a strong resume in major European leagues, having previously worked as an assistant coach in clubs:

French Paris Saint-Germain.

Italian Rome.

English Tottenham Hotspur.

Through this step, the Federation aims to transfer the professional work methodology from the major European schools to serve the Atlas Lions in the next stage.

The Football Association bids farewell to Walid Regragui

Fawzi Lakjaa, President of the Federation, extended a tribute of thanks and appreciation to former coach Walid Regragui for everything he provided during his period in charge, praising his commitment and the results he achieved with the national team. For his part, Regragui expressed his gratitude for the great support he received from King Mohammed VI, the Moroccan Federation and the fans throughout his career with the team.
