The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company issued an explanatory statement in response to what was circulated on some news sites and social media pages regarding the summoning of about 10,000 Egyptian engineers and technicians from the Gulf countries to immediately return to work inside the country.

The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company denies summoning engineers and technicians from abroad and confirms: No decisions affect the stability of workers

The company confirmed that this news was completely incorrect, stressing that no official decision or directive had been issued to summon workers abroad as commonly reported.

She explained that what is being circulated came as a result of a misunderstanding or inaccurate summary of some regulatory controls related to leave without pay, which are applied in accordance with the laws and regulations in force within the electricity sector companies, without any retroactive effect or sudden decisions that may affect the stability of workers.

The company stressed that there are no collective decisions to recall workers abroad, stressing that dealing with leave requests is done according to declared and stable legal controls, while fully preserving the rights of workers in accordance with the law. It also stressed the state’s continued support for Egyptian cadres working abroad, as it is one of the basic pillars of the national economy.
The company called on the media to ensure accuracy and obtain information from its official sources, and to avoid publishing or circulating undocumented news that might create confusion among workers and their families.
