The Egyptian Stock Exchange ended today’s trading with mixed performance for the indices, in light of continued selling pressure from foreign investors, against a clear buying trend from Egyptian and Arab investors.
The main index, EGX30, fell by 0.59% to close at 46,452 points, affected by foreign selling. On the other hand, the small and medium-sized companies index, EGX70, recorded a strong rise of 1.02%, reaching 12,090 points, and the broader index, EGX100, rose by 0.665%, closing at 17,052 points.
Investor trends
Trading data revealed that Egyptian investors recorded net purchases worth 910.754 million pounds, and Arab investors also tended to buy with a net amount of 30.893 million pounds.
Trades and market capitalization
The value of trading during the session amounted to about 8.076 billion pounds, through the trading of 1.242 billion securities, through 177,636 executive operations, including shares of 218 registered companies.
The market capitalization of the registered shares recorded about 3.176 trillion pounds, amid variation in the performance of the shares. 115 stocks rose, compared to a decline of 81 stocks, while 22 stocks remained unchanged.
