Approaching Certified Jamal The technical director of the first football team at Zamalek Club, will write a new chapter in the history of the White Castle, if he succeeds in winning the Premier League title during the current season.
Motamed Gamal is chasing an achievement that has been absent from Zamalek since 1988
This achievement represents special importance, as it may return the Egyptian coach to the podium with Zamalek after a long absence, as the last national coach to achieve the league title with the team was Essam Bahij in the 1987/1988 season, that is, more than three decades ago.
During the past years, foreign coaches dominated the league title with Zamalek, starting with Scottish Dave MacKay and passing through a number of prominent names, all the way to Portuguese Josewaldo Ferreira and Frenchman Patrice Carteron, which reflects the difficulty of the task that awaits any Egyptian coach who leads the team to the title.
Motamed Gamal is performing at exceptional levels with Zamalek during the current period, as he succeeded in restoring balance to the team and imposing a state of technical discipline, in addition to achieving positive results that kept the team in the competition circle at the top of the league table.
If he is able to win the title, it will not be just a new coronation added to Zamalek’s coffers, but rather a historic achievement credited to Motamed Gamal, which restores the reputation of the Egyptian coach inside the White Castle, and ends long years of absence from the league’s podium.
Zamalek leads the current league standings with 43 points, in light of fierce competition with Pyramids and Al-Ahly.
