The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Menoufia conducted a surprise inspection tour inside Ramad Ashmoun Hospital to monitor the regularity of work and the level of medical services provided to citizens. He decided to refer those absent from work during the transit time to investigation, and to hold an urgent meeting to discuss the reasons for the decline in the number of surgical operations in the hospital.

The tour included inspecting rooms Operations Reviewing the records of surgical operations revealed that there was a noticeable decrease in the number of operations performed compared to the available capabilities and targeted rates, which necessitated taking immediate measures to correct the situation.
Immediately, the Undersecretary held an emergency meeting with the Acting Director of Ramad Ashmoun Hospital and the heads of departments, to discuss the real reasons behind this decline, and to develop an urgent action plan to increase the rates of surgical operations during the coming period.
During the meeting, he directed that a clear timetable be set to increase the number of operations and eliminate waiting lists, with an emphasis on daily monitoring of performance within the various departments to ensure achieving the target and improving the level of medical service provided to patients.
He also inspected the hospital’s outpatient clinics and listened to a number of patients to get their opinions about the level of service provided, stressing that discipline within hospitals represents the basis of providing good medical service.
In the same context, he stressed that any negligence in work will not be tolerated, as it was decided to refer all those absent from work while in transit to investigation, stressing that commitment and job discipline are an essential element to ensure the provision of decent health service to citizens.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health confirmed that surprise field tours continue to monitor the progress of work within hospitals and health units, and work to address any negatives as soon as they are detected, in order to ensure raising the efficiency of the health system and improving the quality of services provided to patients.
