Media reports revealed Nadi’s quest Manchester United To decide the identity of the interim coach who will lead the team during the coming period, as negotiations continue with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Michael Carrick, following the dismissal of Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim.
Manchester United is close to deciding on its interim coach before the derby
BBC Sport reported that the club’s management wants to appoint a coach to lead the team in the second half of the current season, in the hope of restoring balance and returning to competing for the qualifying places for the European Championships, especially since the team currently occupies seventh place in the English Premier League standings.
Solskjaer and Carrick are considered the most prominent candidates to take over the job, given their great knowledge of the club’s atmosphere, whether through their experience as former players under the leadership of Sir Alex Ferguson or through their technical work with the team in previous periods.
Solskjaer is expected to hold a meeting with Manchester United officials tomorrow, Saturday, amid a clear desire within the club to resolve this issue before the upcoming Manchester derby match, scheduled for January 17 at Old Trafford, which puts the administration in front of a deadline not exceeding one week to make the final decision.
Currently, Darren Fletcher is temporarily leading the team against Brighton in the FA Cup, in a match that may be his last at the helm of the coaching staff, although there is a limited possibility of him continuing.
Reports indicated that Solskjaer does not only aspire to return as a temporary solution, but rather seeks a permanent opportunity, hoping to correct his path and make up for his recent experience with the Red Devils.
