Iraqi security sources reported that missiles were fired from the city of Mosul, Iraq, towards an American military base in the northeast Syriaaccording to Reuters.
Meanwhile, Iraqi media reported that air defenses shot down two drones in Erbil without causing any casualties.
According to Iraqi security sources, a bomb-laden drone was shot down over the American consulate in Erbil.
Attack on an American base in Syria
The American military base in the town of Al-Shaddadi in Syria was subjected to a missile attack at the beginning of this month, with the beginning of the war between Israel and the United States with Iran.
Several missiles fell inside the base’s perimeter and in its inner courtyard, coming from unknown directions, causing explosions that were heard in areas near the town of Al-Shaddadi, without the nature of the weapons used or the path of their launch becoming clear, according to Syrian media.
The targeted base was devoid of any military presence at the moment of the attack, after the withdrawal of the forces that were previously stationed there, and the site was handed over to the Syrian Ministry of Defense earlier.
