Today, Friday, the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Qalyubia launched intensive monitoring campaigns on bakeries, commercial activities, and gas warehouses in a number of centers and cities in the governorate, which resulted in the issuance of dozens of ration violations, within the framework of intensifying oversight of markets and arresting violators.
The campaigns came in implementation of the instructions of Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, the directives of Engineer Hossam Abdel Fattah, Governor of Qalyubia, and the instructions of Dr. Tamer Salah Mokhtar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply in Qalyubia, to tighten control over bakeries, commercial activities, butane depots, and gas stations, and to ensure compliance with the decisions and laws regulating markets.
The campaigns carried out by the Supply Directorate and its affiliated departments in the areas of Toukh, Shebin al-Qanater, Al-Khanka, the East Shubra Al-Kheima neighborhood, Kafr Shukr and Banha resulted in the issuance of 65 catering violations to municipal bakeries, which varied between the production of bread that did not conform to the specifications, the production of underweight bread, the lack of clean kneading tools, the absence of a record of visits by inspectors, the absence of a usable scale, the absence of an operating list, and the failure to provide cash receipts to citizens, in addition to closure. During official working hours without prior permission.
Preparing reports for violators
Five misdemeanor reports were also issued against commercial activities, including two reports for failure to announce prices, three reports for selling cigarettes at more than the official price, and the seizure of 60 packs of cigarettes.
In a related context, the Qaha Supply Administration carried out a campaign by visiting tourist and French bakeries in the Administration Department and alerting them to adhere to the new ministerial decisions and hanging price signs on the bakeries’ facades, in addition to visiting gas depots to follow up on the distribution of butane cylinders and ensure their availability to serve citizens.
The Toukh Supply Administration also carried out a surprise campaign against butane warehouses, which resulted in issuing a misdemeanor report against one of the warehouses for disposing of 20 domestic gas cylinders and 10 commercial cylinders in violation of the laws.
The Qalyubia Supply Directorate confirmed the continuation of intensive monitoring campaigns in all centers and cities of the governorate to control markets, protect citizens, and deter violators.
