The Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade, headed by Mohamed Hadiya, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply, launched intensive ration campaigns on bakeries in a number of governorate centers, as part of the intensification of monitoring campaigns on municipal bakeries during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period, to ensure the regularity of work in them and not to tamper with the weight and quality of bread, and to ensure adherence to standard specifications, while tightening control over the subsidized bread system to ensure that the support reaches those who deserve it.
The campaigns resulted in the issuance of 53 various ration reports, as follows: In the centers of Abu Al-Matamir, Abu Homs, and Hosh Issa, 29 reports were issued, including 17 bakeries for producing underweight bread, and others for producing bread that did not meet the specifications, and for not announcing operating dates, the price, and the weight of the loaf, in addition to controlling bakeries for not cleaning the dough tools, and not giving bread to citizens, in addition to reports that stopped serving. Production without excuse.
In the centers of Mahmoudiyah, Damanhour, and Kafr al-Dawwar, 24 various ration reports were issued, including 15 reports for the production of underweight bread, reports for the production of bread that did not conform to specifications, reports for not announcing the price and weight of the loaf, and for the dough tools not being clean, and another for the disposal of subsidized local flour and selling it on the black market, reports for stopping production without permission, and for the absence of a record of visits or an operating list at the bakery.
For her part, Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Governor of Beheira, stressed the continuation of daily field visits to bakeries in all centers and cities of the governorate, and not to tolerate any violations that affect the rights of citizens, while taking deterrent legal measures to control the subsidized bread system and maintain the quality of the product provided to citizens.
