Syrian director Al-Sadir Masoud spoke about the scenes of his series Magic Eye, starring the artist Issam Omar and Bassem Samra, which was shown in the first half of the current Ramadan race in 2026 and has achieved great success since its first episodes were shown.
Al-Sadir Masoud said, in radio statements: I am lucky to have with me a group of actors whose eyes can speak, and all the work I previously did, I think about the actor’s eyes, not his body language. The actor is the eye. You can control the artist’s body language, but his eyes are his property. The actor is the eye, and if he does not have an internal reserve, he can speak to his eyes. It is impossible to believe.
He added: There are moments in the drama whose scenes were difficult for all the actors, especially the scenes of Issam Omar and Bassem Samra, and when they were immersed in this way in the atmosphere of unconsciousness in the scene, they would cry after the scene.
Regarding the risks they faced in the series, Al-Sadir Masoud commented: The biggest risk of the Magic Eye series is time, and when I made a dangerous turn, I had a little time, and when I made A Date with the Past, I had more time, but the reasons relate to the platform on which the work is presented, and in Ramadan there is a certain time, and this alone always causes a kind of anxiety during the showing of the episodes.
He continued: The work team was happy with the positive feedback, but I was the only one who was not happy about every episode. I was afraid of the next episode, and in fact, I was relieved after the job offer ended.
